Good coffee pastries traditional American. Very dark cafe inside, no light. Staff quiet and polite food is moderately priced. And the quality of the food is fair. Clean atmosphere and the owner typical Sicilian immigrant. Good place for coffee or red wine.

The food was good and so were some of the deserts. The coffee was good. Both our servers left during our stay... with no warning or advisement at all. The, maybe, bus boy? Took care of us along with someone who might have been the owner. They seemed to have a hard time understanding us at all or getting anything to the table in a timely fashion. Service seemed overall disinterested.
the food is fresh and well done in a simple and goid way. i love the bread options including nice gluten free one. great place.
Delicious desserts! I haven't eaten the regular offerings, but if the cake I had is any indication, they're wonderful. And the service is terrific...
This is a Gem of an UWS restaurant! Edgar Allen Poe inspired the decor... the soups and salads are exceptional, the Italian dishes are wonderful, great pizza, very tasty sandwiches, coffees, teas, and desserts are world class. Benedetto is the owner in residence who cares deeply about his guests and the quality of the food... and on Friday and Saturday night solo jazz guitar is featured starting at 8:30pm.
